I couldn't stay away from contributing with a serious answer when I read the nincompoop who stated that pop music uses no musical instruments!.!.!. LOL!! It's amazing!.!.!. Lately I've wondered (a lot) why people who obviously have the foggiest idea about something insist on acting like they're experts!.!.!. I guess it makes them feel like they belong !? It's beyond me!.
Okey, the term "POP" is used to define "popular" music!. (Many types of music are fused with elements of "POP") But as a general definition, it's a genre characterized for music that's usually written/ produced with (hopefully) "mass appeal"/"broad audience" in mind!. This does not mean (like some may believe) that Pop music is necessarily "formulaic", ordinary or written by untalented or "mediocre people" (like another "expert" also stated on one of the answers!.!.!. lol!) There have been great bands/ artists that have proven to be brilliant, original and totally unique within the POP genre!. U2, Coldplay, The Police, Phil Collins, The Beatles, Duran Duran, Eagles, The Stones just to mention a few, have all had hits in the "POP" genre!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
