You are presumably talking about acoustic guitars!. If so, then Martin guitars are a cut above either Ibanez or Fender!. Martins are all made in the US where the others are made in Asia!. Not all Martins are great; they have some low end models with laminate tops that I don't care for at all but all of the better Martins are potentially wonderful guitars, way better than Ibanez and Fender!.

Wow, as to my personal experience you have heard wrong!. Of course all the brands have different lines of varying cost, woods, pickups, design, neck quality, etc!.!.!. While you can probably find an OK fender or ibanez acoustic, you can't find a great one!. All martin's are OK, you don't have to worry about basic quality and integrity of the craftsmanship with them!. And many of their guitars are outstanding!.

For high end electrics look for PRS, Fender custom shop, I've heard good things about the new Taylor Electric (they have been known as an acoustic company until the past few years), I LOVE my Collings 290- great woods, lovingly built, awesome sounding p90 pickups from Jason Lollar, very sensitive and accurate tuning machines!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
