Tha Carter 1 vs In my Lifetime vol!.1 : Tha Carter wins , because wayne really stepped his game up on this album and it proved that he can out rhyme some of the greatest mc's on earth!. In my lifetime wasn't a bad album but it wasnt as good as reasonable doubt and took a mainstream approach!. Most of jay-z's fans at the time wern't feeling it because he kinda moved from gutter to pop!.
Tha carter 2 vs Hard Knock Life vol!.2- Hard knock life wins because jay showed that he could mix the hood with commercial and still be considered the gangster ( songs like hard knock life) !. wayne even stepped his game up more on the carter 2 but this is the point were he stopped rapping 100% hotboy/ gangsta and started to experiment with different sounds and weird punchlines!. Through the second half of the album things pretty much get boring!.
Tha Carter 3 vs Life and times of S!.carter vol!.3- Life and times of s!.carter wins because jay-z spit more straight foward lyrics at the time and each song on the album was consistent !. With tha carter 3 you would think wayne would take full advantage of outshining hov but he didnt !. In fact his first verse comes off a bit cheesy!.
