Rock music today: No more improvistation?!

Question: Rock music today: No more improvistation!?
How come rock bands today don't improvise anymore!? Nor do they draw out their solos, improvise their riffs and vocals (add random words)!.

Basically, rock bands today just don't provide a very groovy, soulful musical experience!. Maybe rock bands today have deviated from the blues rock, psychedelic, jazz rhythms styles of the mid to late late 60's and 70's--which is sad IMO!.

One example is The Doors playing live music, where Jim Morrison and the rest really add hypnotic beats and melodies at different tempos and sometimes randomly!.

And Jimi Hendrix of course!.!.!.

Do rock bands today lack the skill or are they just less soulful!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Rowdy!.20, you are an idiot!. I'm apart of the young generation, and I don't give a **** about modern music, because it no longer has skilled, soulful artists!. Bands like The Doors were well known for improv, as was Hendrix!. I would love to have seen them in their heyday, but as it is, I was born in 1990!. Mainstream rock and hip-hop now is bland and tired!. The Majority of teens and young adults say so too!. More and more of the "younger" generation are turning to the sixties and seventies to find good music, and it's about time! Peace!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think today's rock music casts back the laziness of this current generation!. Everything involves instant gratification and materialism!. Musicians today lack proper training, like I said they are lazy, they think after a year of constant practice that they are ready for the big leagues!. And essentially, they can because the bar is so ******* low!.

Did you notice that most bands from past eras were of a mature age at the time of their formation!. Today bands are forming as teenagers, that would explain the lack of eloquence in their lyrics! In the 80's Disney stars were not in high rotation on the pop charts! Moreover, this generation has become accustomed to abbreviating their words, and using slang talk rather than proper English which is also reflected in todays rock music!.

I share the same beliefs as you!. And it infuriates me to see how much respect these imbeciles get for producing such dispensable ****!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Bore me with a 20-minute solo or thrill me with an intelligent, 5 second fill!. BB King knows how to do that just in between the vocal lines!. Rock bands smartly learned by the 1970s that the ultimate solo marathon would never last!. In fact, the technical expertise is more populated than ever among today's rock musicians!.

It's what you don't play that counts!. I've been attending rock and jazz concerts since 1970, and unless you're stoned, endless solos become boring in a hurry!. Some of the nicest guys on the planet are Widespread Panic, but I can only take about 30 minutes of their shows before leaving!.

Cream broke up in part because Clapton was tired of the all-night solos people expected!. As you now hear, he's refined his playing and is just as great!.

One of my favorite guitarists is veteran rocker Carlos "Skay" Beilinson of Argentina!. Instead of trying to knock out concrete bunkers with his solos, Skay said in an interview, he has more interest in the mosaics of chords and riffs he builds under songs to propel the music!. He said there are hundreds of thousands of great soloists around the world!.

Dizzy Gillespie said it best about his own playing: "It took me 20 years to learn what to leave OUT!."Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah! Long solos just bore me!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
Rock music, like everything else is moving on to the future!.!.!.!.
