Because, if you listen to any recordings he made in adult life, his intonation got worse and worse and his tone quality deteriorated!. For me, his fame rested firmly on his amazing prodigiousness as a young boy virtuoso!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Although he was a world renowned child prodigy, many feel he didn't realize his potential as an adult: it was felt that his concerts were unsatisfying, and if I recall correctly, he was prone to making an unacceptable number of mistakes!.
