Do you feel that hip-hop artists are underrated?!

Question: Do you feel that hip-hop artists are underrated!?
I think that your average hip hop artist(not to be confused with a dumbazz rapper like soulja boy or nelly) have not been recognized for their skills in regards to the english language!.I think that most of the hip-hop artists out there(mainly underground) have a better understanding of the english language and a larger vocabulary than many students sitting through a college lexture:

Lupe fiasco said

"And I'm mouthless
Which means I'm soundless
Now as far as the hearing, I've found it
It was as far as the distance from the earring to the ground is
But the doorknockers on the ear of a stewardess in a Lear
She fine and she flyin, I feel I'm flying by'em 'cause my mind's on cloud nine

Safe sex is great sex!. Better use a latex, 'cause you don't want that late text, that 'I think I'm late' text

I tend to hear artists use a lot of complex metaphores and word play that at times college level, yet they are seen as idiots and very ignorantWww@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, and No is my answer!.
I say yes because many mainstream(few) rappers and underground(many) are not recognized for their amazing talent!. This is because of the waterdowned pop s*** that is played over and over again!. Which is what most people hear everyday and generalize as hip-hop/rap!. Such as Lil Wyane, 50Cent, T-Pain,Nelly,Bow Wow and others!. Which basically proves some stereotypes of the hip-hop/rap music!.

However, you can't say that the witty-skilled and poetic style rappers have not had their recognition!. Such as "A Tribe Called Quest album's-Beats, Rhymes and Life was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album!.
Tupac Shakur was inducted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame in 2002!.WU-TANG FOREVER was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album!.

So yes, and no is my answer, however with the state of mianstream hip-hop/rap most of the best and better won't get the regonition and are seriously underated, in mainsteam music!.(Exa!. Blu, Pharoahe Monch, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Blackalicious)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree 100%!. Hip hop artists are very underrated!. Some of these cats could have been class valedictorians, or graduated from college with honors!. Immortal Technique is a BEAST!. He is on another level!. He knows his history!. Nas has always been one of the best!. A true poet and storyteller!. Andre 3000 is way ahead of his time!. Lupe and Kanye, there accomplishments speak for themselves!. Luda is incredibly underrated!. He has been overlooked!. But when u speak about understanding the english language and large vocabularies, the best ever was Lauryn Hill!. Some may laugh at this, but I feel that if she ever put out an all hip hop album, and got her head straight with whatever is going on in her personal life, lyrically it would be the best ever!.She was also accepted to Columbia University!. Having that street knowledge and book smarts gave her the edge!.

I would include Wayne and I agree with u that he is a lyrical beast!. But unfortunately, I dont know how much of that is really him!. That sizzurp may give him an advantage!. I use to sip on it for a while and it just opens up your imagination!. It takes u somewhere else!. Therefore some of those incredible lyrics may be manufacturedWww@Enter-QA@Com
