Stereotypically romantic background music?!

Question: Stereotypically romantic background music!?
I need some steryotypically sweet background music for a parodic, sickening love scene!. I'm thinking shakespeare-y, harps, maybe akin to (an instrumental version of) 'Gently as She Goes' from Beowulf!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
A lot depends on the "length" you want!. Here are a few suggestions, varying in length:

Richard Wagner: "Liebestod" from his opera, "Tristan und Isolde"(originally for soprano and orchestra; but orchestral versions of it have been used in countless films - 6:13 mins!.)!.

P!.I!. Tchaikovsky: love theme, section(s) from his "Romeo and Juliet Overture Fantasy"; this work depicts an overview of the entire drama, so the love section(s)would have to be excerpted - apprx!. 20 mins!.!.

P!.I!. Tchaikovsky: "Francesca di Rimini" - exact same data, specs!. as the Romeo and Juliet!.

I think you will be able to listen to all of these on You Tube!.

You best bet, is probably the "Liebestod", I would imagine!.

Good luck,

I'd pick any lyrical theme by Tchaikovsky!. The love theme from Romeo and Juliet has already been cited here, and that's probably the most stereotypically "romantic" melody you can find!. But also you could try the second theme from the 1st movement of his 6th symphony!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

This may come as a shock but most people who post in the music > classical section don't see classical music as sickening or 'parodic'!. I'm sure you meant to post in the music > new age area!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

C!.mon, Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #2, the love theme FULL MOON AND EMPTY ARMS

Might help!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
