1!. Rakim - A true elite MC!. He is what all rappers aspired to be!. He fine tuned elaborate verses, bangin metaphors and a voice tone that flowed to every beat!. When he flows now he is still hot and still draws a crowd!. He knew he was the best and proved it!. Most of his albums are some of the greatest of all-time and deservedly so!.
2!. Ice Cube - Was the main MC on N!.W!.A!. and put fear into the government with his verses, rhymes and flow!. He was the heart of the group!. Very smart and innovative!. Made one of the hardest diss tracks out there (No Vaseline)!. No Vaseline was the true blueprint to diss tracks where he dismantled Dr!. Dre and Easy E!. From late 80's to mid 90's he dominated!. He truly repped west coast life and put everyone else around the country on!. His mentality and influence is what keeps him forever embedded in Hip Hop!.
3!. Tupac - Alot of people want to give Pac the G!.O!.A!.T!. crown but he wasn't as versatile as most of the rappers on this list!. But the thing is he never had to be, with his poetical style, passionate rhymes and great ability to write!. Most MC's think they can survive off of flow without puttin rhymes on paper first and he is the reason why you do!. When you think of real you think of Pac!. In today's age of fake backpack rappers he was true to his rhyme's!.
4!. Notorious B!.I!.G!. - Who's style do you hear being used the most (Rick Ross), who's rhyme's are being repeated the most (Jay Z)!. He out boned Bone Thugs and Harmony in "Notorious Thugs!. His style and flow was unique and he was a true trendsetter!.
5!. K!.R!.S!. -One (“Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everything”)!.
One of the first and best battle style rapper, best freestyle MC because of his energy and flow!. He is a pioneer in hip hop culture!. Great technical skills and smooth flow from the top of the dome is what this man is!.
6!. Nas - Or whatever moniker you know him as (Nasty Nas, Nastradamus)!. He is that portal that keeps the door of hip hop's past there for us all to see!. He's a super hero sort of speak!. When all we hear is the same money, hoes and car lyric's we can think or listen to Nas and know why we love hip hop!. What MC do you know that makes a debut album that automatically becomes and remains the greatest album ever!?
7!. Common - The intelligent man's rapper!. He set a new level for hip hop with complex lyric's that hit home and bring a different style to battling!. When he rhymes he's not just giving you a track, he's telling a story!. And on top of that he went after issues that nobody else were really touching like abortion and life in general!.
8!. L!.L!. Cool J - His hip hop career as a whole is work of art and evolution!. One of the first diverse platinum artist who wasn't afraid to take chances (I Need Love)!. He came on the scene a young cat wet behind the ears but hungry!. His flow was cocky yet humble!. He started the trend you see now of promoting himself and his body!. Now you see every rapper trying to follow the mold!.
9!. Scarface - A pioneer of gangsta rap (Facemobb) and one of the greatest to come out of the south!. He has mastered longevity as well as bringing up aspiring young rappers which most MC's dont do!. He was a storyteller with his hard but true rhyme's of streetlife that people could feel and vibe with!. He has collaborated with most of the greatest of all time and has matched their intensity and uniqueness that they bought to the track!. Most artist bring on someone who sometimes takes over the track but his collaborations with Pac, Jay Z, Nas, Ice Cube, Dr!. Dre, Too Short and he matched them!.
10!. BIG DADDY KANE - A true OG!. This is a greatest rapper of all time list not the hottest, not the most influencial because if thats the case many deserve to be here!. Most rappers began their careers with Big Daddy Kane because they wanted to be like him, have his charisma, his stylish flow and metaphors!. Kane was a innovater who had the diversity to be a battle rapper and then flip into a smooth track for the ladies flowing effortlessly!. His swag is what MC's today try to emulate!. Before your Jay Z's and Biggie's of the world had swag there was Kane, before your Papoose's of the world came with Alphabetical Slaughter their was Kane introducing multiple rhyming lyric's!.
