What are your top three classical music selections?!
Question: What are your top three classical music selections!?
I have a friend who is beginning to get into classical music!. I'd like to burn a couple of CDs for her!. I have a large music library, but I don't want to overwhelm her!. I'd like to keep it to maybe twenty five selections!. What are the three selections that you consider essential!. If you don't mind, no Mozart please!. While I do recognize him as one of the great Masters, he's not the ONLY master!. also, no opera!. She's just not there yet!. Thanks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well opera can be very easy listened to also like The Queen of the Night Aria from Mozart's the Magic Flute (two rules with one stone; gotta love Debussy philosophy)!. Of course Mozart's not the only great composer!.!.!.!. you have Beethoven and Carl Orff too!.!.!.!.!. (I hope you get this is a joke)!.
Here's a rare one that's eaisly accsessable!. Beethoven's 4th String Quarter, the Fourth movement has a very catchy melody and is very listenable!. Another one I loved when I got into classical music (I still do too) is Bach's Little Fugue in G minor!. And finally something more modern, Bolero!. I like Ravel's description for it!. A piece for orchestra without music!. Even though there is no developement it is one of the most listenable pieces!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think you should try to get a nice mix of types of works!. Give her some chamber music, some orchestral music, some wind music, some string music, some piano music, etc!. You might also want to stick to shorter works as well!.
