Piano trios: Smetana, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens?!
Question: Piano trios: Smetana, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens!?
I posted a question about trios earlier, and after discussing with my trio members and our coach, we have narrowed it down to either Smetana, Beethoven Op!. 1 No!. 3 in c minor, Mendelssohn c minor, and Saint-Saens F major!. I really like the Smetana but it sounds really difficult!. Anyone know anything about these pieces and their difficulty level!? Which would you suggest and why!? Thanks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Smetana difficult!. Mendelssohn C m is nothing compared to the D minor, which is a viruositc work for piano!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hi Mia!
Forget the Saint-Saens!. The Smetena is more of a reward for the players than the audience!. So you are left w/ the indestructable Beethoven Triple Concerto or the Mendelssohn!. Give the Mendelssohn a shot!. Good playing!.
