I'm surprised this one hasn't been mentioned;

Quadrophenia by The Who - an amazing album to accompany a great film!.

If we're going for cheesey [in a good way] Rock Operas then definitely Jesus Christ Superstar!.
I'm not even religious, you don't have to be to appreciate it camp glory, ha!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

rocky horror picture show, written by Richard O"Brian and starred Tim Curry as the master , Susan Sarradon as Janet, and Richard himself as RifRaf!. One of the best shows i have every seen live and plenty of audience participation!. There again I am stuck in a time warp which the rocky horror was not !.It was first showed in 1972 and was way ahead of its time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My favorite is Doug by the Coolies, the tale of a skinhead who murders a drag queen chef, steals his recipes, publishes them in a book under his own name and becomes a millionaire, then heads into self-destruction!.

As that album was probably purchased by 10 people (me and relatives of the band members), #2 would go to Tommy!. I have to say I much prefer the movie version of "Listening to You" to the original 1969 recording!. Daltrey really puts his heart and soul into the movie recording!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Definitely Tommy by The Who!
"Ever since I was a young boy, I played the silver ball
From Soho down to Brighton, I must have played them all
But I ain't seen nothing like him in any amusement hall
That deaf, dumb, and blind kid - sure plays a mean pin-ball!"Www@Enter-QA@Com

Rocky Horror Picture Show

I don't know if it counts but Jim Steinman (Meatloaf songwriter) did an album some years ago called Original Sin performed by Pandora's Box that's well worth checking out if you're into that sort of thingWww@Enter-QA@Com
