Question: Would anyone else find this offensive!.!.!.!?
today, in english, something came up about heavy metal music, and she was like "i think heavy metal is horrible, you can't understand what they're saying, and whatever it is, it's probally pointless!."
i pretty much only listen to heavy metal, and music like that!.
i took a lot of offense to this, and all my friends who hate that music were laughing, and said i over reacted when i got mad!.
who else would of got offended!?

I would be pretty annoyed about that!. Not majorly, but it's still a pretty idiotic thing to say!. Just because the person in question doesn't like heavy metal, it doesn't mean that it is worthless!. I say slap 'em one ;)

Taking offense to something a closed-minded person says just gives them power over you!. Don't give them the satisfaction of knowing they got to you!. Sometimes when people spout off about something that they admit they don't understand its actually amusing, not offensive!.

She certainly didn't say anything offensive!. She gave her opinion and you obviously don't have any respect for anyone elses opinion if it is different from your own!.
I can't tolerate heavy metal music!!.!.!.!.!.!.it's nothing personal against you!.!.!.!.I've probably hated it since before you were born! I'm thankful that there is a lot of different types of music available so we can all listen to what we prefer!

For me, it's ebikes!. People laugh because I drive a free electronic bike around!. It's part of my life to design efficient and free transportation!.

Us metalheads have to get used to taking crap from people that don't understand, don't wanna understand, or are just plain stupid about music!. people don't like metal music because of the screaming, growling, rasping, etc!. i always take s*it from from my friends because they just think my music is crap!. we know that our music is, to put it simply, better than the music they listen to!. the musician have immense amounts of talent, especially compared to the mainstream music that the teacher and your friends are probably listening to!. just ignore her \m/Www@Enter-QA@Com
I got sent to the office for defending metal before! My teacher called it "Satanic and stupid"!. I told her that it's more musically complex than anything she listens to!. I was pissed as hell!.
