You could, seeing as the 4 strigns E A D and G are tuned the same as a bass guitars 4 strings, but you would have 2 extra strings not being used, if that's all right with you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
you will need a bass and an amp!. The school might have an amp that you can use but to practice at home you will want a bass amp of your own!. I don't reccomend playing the bass through a guitar amp because they are not designed to handle the extra low end and you could easily blow out your speaker or your ampWww@Enter-QA@Com
