A Mexican Strat is an American made strat as far as parts are concerned!. However they are assembled in Mexico!.!.!.!.!.

They are less expensive, pretty well made and for a young person it is a good level of instrument!. I would suggest a trip to a good guitar repair facility when you receive the guitar!.!.!.!.!.
Reasons!.!.!.!.!.
1!. The frets are likely to be sharp along the edge of the neck - You can test this by running you hand in a cupped fashion slowly up the neck!. If you feel sharp ends a repair person can file them so they will be smooth!.
2!. The action (string height) may need adjusting!. Strats are easy to adjust so it shouldn't take too long!.
3!. The Pick up height should be checked to ensure a good signal from the pickups!.
4!. The intonation should be checked!. This is an adjustment of the string length so the notes are true all the way up the neck!.
These are some of the common areas Mexican Strats are known to have problems!. Perhaps the store you are purchasing the guitar from will be pleased to do the "set up" work!.

while getting a guitar for any child is a good idea, the mexican strat is an average instrument with decent features!. The epiphone series of guitars offers a much better value than the squier guitars with better workmanship and quality and a much higher resale value down the road!. If the child has never played guitar then you should have the child start with an acoustic guitar!. The acoustic actually builds strength, dexterity, and coordination much quicker than an electric guitar!. An acoustic guitar does not require an amp and is the preffered instrument for a high school guitar class!. If the child already has an acoustic then an electric is a perfect next step!. Besides fender and epiphone, the Ibanez company offers an excellent instrument!. The Mexican made Strat, is an incredible guitar!. The price is good, the neck is actually made in California!. The workers in the Mexican factory are some of the hardest workers I've ever seen, and they really do a great job!. The biggest actual difference in the American Made and The Mexican is the pick-ups, but in most cases, thats just simply not a big deal!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ive actually got a japanese strat (its really old) but its just as good as the american kind!
I was lookin into these b4 i was even "dedicated" cuz i new they were just graet guitars! Dont listen to ppl whore like oh dis is were deyre bad or get an american THEY'RE THE SAME!!!!

And yes fender is the best but i also have this guitar a PRS custom SE!. Its really good and its got a very unique tone (almostr like its own wah sound w/o a pedal!) and the pickups are totally different from each other tonally unlike the strat where the pickuos are really all the same!Www@Enter-QA@Com
