How good a band is subjective to the listener, the only thing you can compare in music is technical ability!. If you are asking who the best metal band is technically then I can tell you every poster so far is way off :)

also remember more technical does not mean better musically!.

then i Say, Metallica (their older stuff), a newer metal band could be Black Tide

but if we are talking metal core then hell there is alot of band out right now idk they all sorta sound similar,
