So how offensive is this, does it matter if its said a lot in a song?!

Question: So how offensive is this, does it matter if its said a lot in a song!?
let me start off by saying i don't curse!. not one word!.!.!.!.yes my friends find it weird!. but its not like they bother me to much i just don't like saying it!. and they have this issue with me listening to songs with the Fword!. "f bomb" yet they listen to songs that are degrading and listen to them call girls B***h, Wh**e, or they say A** or ****** or S***!. honestly i think these words are 100 times more offensive as the F word!. to me the F word just adds emphasizes to something like don't F-ing mess with you, your just adding emphasizes!. now if its directed to someone than i understand, yeah it can be offensive but most of my songs are like just for emphasizes!. for instance, "im not o Fing kay"!. emphasizes, not towards anyone , not offensive or
"what the f is wrong with me!.!." or its to express anger that only that word can describe!. now if your saying i want to F than i won't listen to the song cus to me telling someone that is degrading!. okay so what do you have to say on this matter!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it depends on how the work is used, more than what the word is!. Any word, even the most vulgar of words, can work if used properly!. However, many artists just use them as crutches (they know angry teenagers will eat it up), and are just lazy and ignorant with their usage!.

A good example of using it properly is actually in NIN's "Closer"!. The line: "I want to f**k you like an animal"!. Is it degrading and violent!? Yeah, of course!. But it's supposed to be!. That's the kind of mood that's being conveyed!.!.!. Trent's trying to make it grim and uncomfortable, and that's exactly what he does!. If he said "I want to screw you like an animal" or "I want to boink you like an animal" it would be a joke, and wouldn't convey the emotion he was trying to get across!.

Another good one is Smashing Pumpkins' "Ava Adore"!. The line: "It's you that I adore, you will always be my whore"!. Again, a degrading word, but it works in the context!. The line (and song as a whole) is obviously trying to present this abuse/self-serving/co-dependent relationship, while being very aware of the danger and absurdity of that!. So, realising it's a degrading line, but using it in context of the song as a whole to get an idea across!. Again, a line like "it's you that I adore, you will always be the one whom I choose to have sexual relations with" wouldn't really have the power or impact (or conciseness), so the emotion of the song would be completely different!.

Even as an example you'd probably like, MCR's "Teenagers" uses the word "s**t", but uses it well!. The song is kinda ironic, of people focusing on the superficiality of teenage "aggression" without really addressing the underlying problems!. So the use of the word "s**t" kinda plays into that!.!.!. it uses such a vulgar word in a kind of ironic way - like, making people focus on the word (ie: "aggression"), and then with the next few lines pointing out the superficiality of that, ending in "maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me"!.

But obviously there are many artists who use profanity left and right for no real reason except to appeal to angry teenagers, or simply out of laziness and lack of talent!. I don't necessarily have anything against that!.!.!. they can do what they want, and they certainly have an audience!. But at the same time it's not really something I find interesting to listen to, so I don't!.

So!.!.!. most any vulgar word can be used as emphasis given the right context!.!.!. it just takes a good writer to figure out that context!. Regardless, you not swearing and you listening to music with swear words are completely different things!. Just because you a song you like says something doesn't mean you have to act it out (that's like all those idiots whining about "my son killed himself because of an Ozzy Osbourne song"!.!.!. no, your song killed himself because he was depressed and felt he didn't have any outlet - he just happened to like/relate to that song when he was in that destructive state)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think the fact that any word is considered offensive is dumb!. The only reason people think its offensive is because they have been told that it is a bad word since childhood!. If no one had told them that, the f word would just be another word that rhymes with duck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i use curse words but not alot and if you say something like ' i not o f**king k' if people take it like you mean it badly then let them think that cause you know what you meant and as long as you know you shouldn't care what people thinkWww@Enter-QA@Com

i hate songs that have any curs language a lot in it!. its ok if it comes like 3-4 times!. thats why i love fort minor, they are rappers but they don't swear so much as other rappers!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I find the overuse of the F-Bomb to be a sign of a lazy mind, and an ignorant person who cannot find a better way to express themselves!.

I can understand sometimes they get used for emphasis!.!.!. but if you start "emphasizing" everything!.!.!. in reality!.!.you are emphasizing NOTHING!.

So!.!.!. when I hear a lot of profanity PERIOD!.!.!. i find it annoying!. Even a band I like alot, SevenDust, to me diminsh a lot of their songs by feeling the need to drop F-bombs!. Its really unnecassary!.

I find the word to be extremely offensive personally!.!.!.!. right up there with B***h or N****r or F****t!. Those three words really have no place in anyones vocabulary (though I do unfortunately use the f-word from time to time)!. A**, when used to refer to a person of stubborn nature, or B****, when yused to mean gripe, don't really bother me, though they get overused a lot also!.

I think too many of todayss musicians are too immunized to profanity, as is our whole generation!. Few people think twice today when dropping F-bombs even in casual converssation!.!.!.!.

But for emphasis, something should be shocking!.!.!.which that word no longer is!. Oddly enough!.!.!.20 years ago!.!.it was, simply because it wasn't used as every other word coming out of a celebrity's mouth, unlike today!.

I can see using it like you say!.!.!. but it should be used, er, properly!? Whatthe F* is wrong!?" shouldnt be used just because a person is quiet, or you "This F*ing sucks" just because something is bland!.!.!.!. because now you are overemphasizing!. Again!.!.!. use it for MAXIMUM effect, by using it a minimum of times!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They listen to their own music and so do you!. Each of you have different opinions on "curse words"!. If it's what you want to say or listen to without offending anybody then go ahead, do it!. It's not their choice or decision to make you do what they want to do!.

Just simply tell them that you're not offending them or anybody else in any way possible, but it's merely a way of expressing anger!.

As for the Youtube links, sorry but Youtube is blocked here so I won't be able to answer that part!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm a songwriter, and I don't use curse words in my songs!. Not because I'm some kind of prude, but because it's been done to death!. It's very cheap, and low-rent!.

Bands that scream "Fu*&" and all that are NOT cool, and they are NOT "in your face!." They just think they are!. It makes them look stupid!.

"OOOOOhhh he sang the F-word!.!.!. How RADICAL!" NOT!.
