Yes, and he just died a few weeks ago!. He quit Rush because he had health problems, and couldn't take the touring life and all that!.
But later he became a competitive bodybuilder!. I don't know what he died of!. I guess his life turned out OK (except for the dying part)!.

John Howard Rutsey!.!. 1953-2008!.!. He died in his sleep of an heart attack on May 11, related to complications from his diabetes!.!. R!.I!.P John, you are missed by all Rush-fans!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
