SG or Les Paul?!
Question: SG or Les Paul!?
ok for graduation which is in 12 or so days for me im geting a new guitar!. i can spend no more then 1500!. im down to the gibson les paul studio and the gibson sg standard!. im barely an intermediate player really into punk rock!. i have a les paul standard made by epiphone and it always hurts my shoulders to stand up playing it for a long time even with my strap which is real low because i have the long arms to play real low like down to my knees lol!. anyway should i keep playing the les paul and get the gibson les paul studio or switch to the gibson sg!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

if your a punk player i would get an sg because there lighter and have a heavier sound to the Les Paul's smooth sound!.

Listen up, for my sound it's the LP hands down!. And for that matter, I'd rather have an Epi LP Custom Elitist than a Gibson Studio LP!. I just hate the Studio LP sound!. The Epi Elitist has the same pickups, electronics, and tuning keys as the Gibson Custom LP!.
As far as the SG goes, I really don't like it's sound at all either, but it may be EXACTLY what you're looking for!.!.!.!.if you don't know this already, you need to spend some time at guitar center with an amp similar to yours playing both of these guitars!.
They have completely different sounds, so you need to play them to know which one fits your style the best!.
As far as weight goes!.!.!.!.!.!.!.well!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.that would be the last thing that decided what guitar I was getting!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The SG is lighter in most cases and the standard has a great neck!. but i have been hearing alot of complaints on Gibson's middle of the line and lower guitars!. check out some gear forums like the Gear Page
for $1500 i would go try some Jacksons!. in fact I'll bet you would love a Sweetone or the Mark Morton model which is basicly a sweetone built to his specs

wow thts weird those are the 2 guitars i had to pick between when i was buying my guitar lol!. I bought the sg!. I just like the feeling of it better!. I can't explain it, I just feel more comfortable playing an sg instead of a les paul!. also, since u already hav a les paul epiphone get the gibson sg! Trust me, you won't regret it!Www@Enter-QA@Com
Giving the SG a try can't hurt!. It's lighter and with mine, the neck is quite a bit shallower than the Les Paul so it shouldn't hurt as much on your shoulders!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
