its a good album first disk is new covers and the second disk is all their old covers from back in the 80's alot of good songs new and old
new- "turn the page" "whiskey in the jar"
old- "am i evil!?" "blitzkrieg" "so what" "overkill" "last caress/green hell" "stone cold crazy"

it doesnt really compare to master of puppets, ride the lightning, !.!.!.and justice for all, black album, kill 'em all!.!.!. but its goodWww@Enter-QA@Com

i bought the album, if you don't already know it's pretty much just them doing a whole bunch of cover songs on the first cd, and the 2nd cd is just a bunch of their old songs!. Personally i don't really like it!. I like the songs on it, but the idea behind it sucks!. It's like saying hey, let's throw away all of our originality and just do songs other people wrote that we like, oh, and to keep our fans content let's make it a 2 disk cd and put some of our old stuff on the 2nd disk!. it lacks creativity, and in my opinion was just put on the shelves so metallica could make money!. It's not near as bad a saint anger, but i feel as though it still sucks!. It's sellout metallica at their worst!. but the music on it's good, it just lacks originality and was produced so that record companies could make money!. In short, good songs but the idea behind it was a very sell out idea!. I wouldn't buy it again if i had the choice, and i like both old and new metallic (except saint anger)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I was apprehensive about buying it!.

But it's got their OLD garage recordings which pack a big punch and are just so raw!. And then the newer recordings which are great!.

All the songs they cover are good and have that extra Metallica umph!.

Personally, it's one of my favorites!. Defiitely worth it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Good question!. I read the answers, and I've decided not to purchase it!. Sounds like it doesn't compare to their studio recording through black!. I like Metallica, but I don't like them to the point I think I need all their cd's, like I do some other bands!. I'm hoping their album with Rick Rubin will be good!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i would say that it cant compare as almost all the songs (maybe even all of them) on garage inc are covers!.!.!.BUT it does rock!!!! so i would purchase it if you can find it somewhere cheap like amazon, etc!.!.!.some record stores were charging like $25 for it--for that price i wouldnt buy itWww@Enter-QA@Com

It's a departure from what you'd expect!. They do covers of songs/bands that influenced them, like Seger's "Turn The Page" and a really rocking version of Thin Lizzy's "Whiskey In The Jar"!.

Not really, it's just covers!. I would say stick to their classics!. I would say that the only good track on it is Whiskey in the Jar and not even that is that great so I would say no, it is not worth purchasing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
