NO! I started playing guitar when I was 16 and taught myself everything with a bit of help of various websites, guitar magazines and such!. I'm 19 now and I'm the only guitar teacher at the only music school in my city, and I like to think I totally rock out!. It's just practice, if you're always trying to improve your playing then figuring out what to practice and how to practice will come with time, and all the resources you need for the theory side of things (scales, chord construction and all that) is easy enough to find on the net!.
I would advise you to go to a website such as ultimate-guitar!.com, find tabs for a song you like and start learning, it really is that easy to get startedWww@Enter-QA@Com

i allways wonder what has age to do with learning something!? o_O everything depends on yourself, your knack or patience to learn, how much do u practice etc I'm 19 but i still hope i can get guitar so that i could learn to play it, i totally don't think it's too late or anything + i know ppl who learned to play guitar in few months and rest they do was just polishing their skill!.!.!.

Well it's never too late, but if someone who is playing and is like 13, they will be better than you now by the time they are 17!. But u can still rock out if u practice alot, it's just better if u start early!. It is good that u chose to start now though as opposed to when you are like 30!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no i don't think so i believe it is determination and the guy from hinder learned the guitar at 16/17 can't remeber!. just a hobby right!? so you don't need to be jimi hendrix or brian may ya know!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
