I would highly reccomend it!! I recently tried this beauty out,and it plays killer!! The weight is perect, nice and light, yet balanced,it's not top heavy so it sits nice when strapped!.The neck is a nice ebony, and in my opinion super fast!! Excellent set up for metal, easy fretting notes, pinch harmonics squeal nicely, the pick ups suited the guitar very nicely, and I ran them through the whole gambit, from clean,to down right full blown gain soaked scream!!
I believe that this particular model maybe an import, but fear not!! It is quality through and through!.The new owners at DEAN are kicking butt, even the import models rival alot of "USA" models from other companies!.I own the DEAN RAZORBACK USA model, and played the import model, feel wise there was no difference, material wise there was no difference(same woods used, same hardware, same pick ups), TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!! Head down to your local dealer and try it out, you'll be back to buy it!!

I've had mine for two years now,and it gets abused severly daily,NEVER had one problem with it!.!.!.plays awsome, and built like a tank!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Deans are not very serious guitars - consider the simple fact that top-of-the-line players, and Mustaine is not one of them, play Ibanez (Vai,Satriani, Metheny, Benson!.!.!.!.), Gibson, Fender, Carvin, etc!. Dean pays a lot of attention to tacky, kitchy and angular looks, but that, in addition to being hideous, also makes guitars too big, klutzy, prone to damaging and breaking, etc!. That said, Gibson's hideous models, Flying V and Explorer and such, are equally ugly and easy to damage/break!. What you need to decide is whether you want a flashy, tacky appearance on the stage or you want to grow as a guitarist!. In the first case, by all means, go Dean, like Dimebag or Mustaine; in the second case, buy a custom-designed, neck-through Carvin or Ibanez Prestige for just a touch more and you'll have a high-quality instrument that will facilitate good playing instead of trash-chic appearance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Dean guitars are generally amazing guitars they have great sound and are quility built, this guitar is no exception a friend of mine bought it recently and its amazing but as far as transitioning from acoustic to electic i dont think this would be the first electric you would want to buy just because Dean's are typically used for heavier music so they have a harsher tone i would probably run with maybe an ibanez or a epiphone!. good luck with you musicWww@Enter-QA@Com

A buddy of mine just bought one last month, I'm not usually a V kind of guy, but that was a sweet axe!.
the neck will be quite a change for you from an acoustic!.
My bet is go try her out, and ignore the nay-sayers who think its 'kitchy' or 'tacky'!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
