Answers:
I love your choices!. I would pick all of them as some my main influences!. Cliff could pull off classical scales in metal songs!. Steve Harris pulls off triplets all day long!. Trujillo puts the funk in metal!. Claypool made me rethink what I know about bass!. Geddy Lee never ceases to amaze with his quick, classical-inspired playing!. He's even better live!.
But you left out two greats:
Stu Hamm - the man played Moonlight sonata so beautifully that I was in awe of it for two days!.
and
Jaco Pastorius - The man was a genius!. He played jazz with such feeling that it moves me every time I hear it!.
Professor Leech - Flea will never put much feel into his funk!.
EDIT: Sabes99 brought up a good one!. John Leech made some of the most recognizable basslines in the history of rock!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
