Hard rock has more power cords and can be heard in heavy rotation on most mainstream rock radio stations!. Alternative is edgy rock that not everyone will relate too!. Music that doesn't always fit easily into one classification!. You know it when you hear it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Just enjoy em both if you like em!. There really is little difference because you can have an alt rock band who plays hard rock!. (eg: Alice In Chains)
