Answers:
It's a common method called panning!. To get everything to play on one side of the stereo mix, just pan each instrument on your mixer hard left or right or to your liking!. Some more advanced surround sound programs and systems can pan to the center or rear provided you have the equipment to hear it although these effects can also be simulated on a normal stereo mix!. You can also just put the song in Windows Media Player or something like that and set the balance to one end!.

On second thought, you might be referring to the method of rendering a song in stereo to mono!. This can be achieved by playing the track but recording it in a mono mix!. You can also do this with most pro and amateur music production software by using the "render to mono" function!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's how they were mixed!. Often, tracks were done like that back into the sixties and sometimes afterwards!. There's nothing you can do about it apart from listening on speakers unfortunately!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Maybe its the song!. In some songs its actually set up that way!. Or maybe you just have a bad pair of headfones!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
