stay away from rolands new stuff!. avoid like the plague!. now there older stuff from the 80's is great but you will pay for vintage prices!. the Roland Juno 106 is fairly inexpensive topping off around $650!.
now when you mean synthersizer you mean analog modeling (no piano or natural sounds come from these types of synths)
the choices would be (keeping price in mind)!.
korg ms2000
Roland Jp-8000
Alesis Micron
If when you say synthersizer you mean a synth that is capable of natural sounds!. piano as well as synthetic!. you may want to go with:
Korg M1
Yamaha Motif 6
Korg Micro X
I just picked up a Kawai k5000s fairly cheap also!.
Now if you want me to choose for you i would say go for the korg m1 you have to get them used from ebay but the sound will not disappoint you!.

The best synths on the market (in my opinion) are Roland!. They've got so many settings available; it's mind-blowing!. A friend of mine has one, and it's amazing!. You can get them for about $1000 directly from a retailer, but it would be a good idea to put out a Want ad, because there are probably a lot of people who have secondhand ones for sale left over from the 80s!.!.!.Good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com
