I think most people are closed off to most of the music out there!. They are exposed to only what they have heard on the radio, what's popular at the time (on the charts), what they have heard while growing up, and for the older music only the legendary classic rock and pop (or country, etc) whatever your into!. I was the same way, only liked 70's classic rock (and a certain variety of it)!. Since subscribing several years ago to an unlimited music subscription!. I heard literally THOUSANDS of songs I wouldn’t have even known existed!. I rediscovered hundreds of classic rock groups, songs, old albums, went further back into the 60's, further ahead into the 70's, 80's and especially the stuff I was close minded about the 90's and 2000's which I don’t prefer as much ad the older music!. But there was still a lot of music I found!. Coldplay is my favorite band today and I like quite a few alternative groups!. I use to hate them, even the very word alternative!. My personal collection of music now exceeds 50,000 tracks from 50 years!. If one could hear and discover all the music that is really out there, its treasure chest of music!. My advice, try an unlimited subscription service like Yahoo Music, Rhapsody, or Napster where they let you hear ALL the music you want in its entirety (not 30 second samples)!. You can even download them onto your computer and play them anytime you want!. That's how I made my grand discovery! You'll find a lot more than you ever bargained for!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Music is an excellent medium, I love all kinds of music!. Sometimes it bugs people when i say that really i love all kinds (since they wan't specific bands/genres from me) but really I'm open minded about anything!. if it has a beat, and if you put a piece of yourself into making it, then sure I'll give it a listen!. It often confuses my parents because I'll be listening to an orchestral piece one day and then some hip hop stuff the next!.
