Like someone asks for good metal bands, and then some people just say "Slipknot"!.!.!. Slipknot is not a good metal band!. In fact they suck!. So please don't do it next time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

slipknot is a great band, if you dont like them you dont know **** about metal, they have one of the best drummers in the world(wether you like it or not)

These same arguments gets thrown up on every fourth or fifth news thread around lately!.!.!.!."oh no, my favorite band is so and so and they are better than your favorite band", and "your favorite band sucks because they are nu-metal or death metal and that's not real metal"!.!.!.blah, blah, blah!.
Give it a rest already!. Many of you find your only enjoyment in life sitting around trying to define whether or not it will be "cool" for you to be able to like this band or that band or in deciding what group you are going to bash next if their opinions don't match yours at the moment!. That's kids stuff!.
Take your empty heads out of the sand and wake the f*** up!. If you really love metal like some of you profess and would like to see it continue to thrive for future generations to enjoy, you will learn to embrace it for it's diversity instead of bashing everything that you refuse to accept or are unable to appreciate because it sounds a little different or doesn't fit your preferences!. Much of metal's success has been due to the fact that it has always been aggressive, rebellious, against the grain and non-conforming!. Many people have forgotten this and it would seem that these people would now prefer to call everything that doesn't fit into their preferred category, just useless crap metal!. There are many different types of metal and they all exist because people enjoy playing and/or listening to many different things!. This is great in my opinion!. No one says you have to like it all!. It simply means that there is more than enough variety out there to hopefully keep everyone happy for a while!.
Music is subjective and always will be!. People grow up in different environments, have different personalities, they are exposed to different types of music and eventually form their own opinions of what they like based on many of these factors!. Many people's tastes also change over time due to being exposed to different types of music, they learn to appreciate other things and the mere fact that there exists so many variations out there for us all to enjoy!. These same factors influence musicians and the music that they go on to create!. It's all about personal preference and since everyone has different tastes, there will always be differing opinions on what every person thinks is good or what they think is bad!.
The sad truth for metal as a whole though, is that there are so many f***bags out there these days that want everything to conform to only one or two sub genres of metal so that way they can just b**** and complain all the time about how everything sounds the same!. Thankfully though, this opinion is shared by the minority and not the majority of metal heads worldwide!. If the opposite were true, it would regretfully be only a matter of time before metal would eventually become stagnant & head off on the same path that grunge took!. Seldom to be seen or heard from again!.
I am in no way saying that I am a diehard Slipknot or LP fan either before the assumptions and the bashings begin!. Quite the opposite actually but I can appreciate some of their work for what it is!. I did attend one of their shows a couple years ago just for the sake of seeing what the fuss was all about and I can attest to the fact that they do in deed deliver a great high energy live show!. No question about it!. Not being a big fan, I would still say that it was worth every dollar of the ticket price to see them if for only the one show!. I also understand that a lot of their audience is younger and this band may not be around in another 10 years and all that but it is still nice to see a large fan base coming together for the sake of the music and if nothing else, the most important thing is that Slipknot (Or LP)was probably responsible for getting a lot of the younger generation involved in metal even if they started listening to them because it was trendy at the time!. Many of these probably wouldn't have gotten into it otherwise!. Who really cares why they did anyway!. I say great for them and for Slipknot or LP for showing them the way!. Doesn't make me a Slipknot or LP fan for f***s sake!. I'm just glad another generation has come along to enjoy metal and hopefully propel it forward for another 100 years or more!.
I know that not everyone is capable of coming out of their little box so I expect a nice backlash from this since the truth often hurts!. May the guilty bash away!
