Question: Do you think there is a difference between the underground hiphop culture and the mainstream hiphop culture!?

Difference is that underground artist are more likely to give you a quality album(not in all cases!.!.!.lol) They are hungry!.!.!.so the talent is raw!. They have more drive to be better then the next rapper and most of their music is from the heart!. Dont be fooled, a lot of underground artist would like to sell too!.!.!.But for most its not a priority!.!.!.most times they just want to be heard!.
Mainstream doesnt necessarily mean that your wack!.!.!.but these artist do lose their edge at times!.!.!.A lot of these artist HAVE to sell in order to keep their contracts!.!.!.So most times they have to do commerical songs to keep that mainstream status and sell records!.!.!.There are few that can do what they want on a album!.!.!.But more then likely these artist arent as hungry anymore and more then likely their style comforms to the masses or their work becomes watered down!. Most of you former favorite underground artist are considered mainstream!.!.!.but are still respected for their work now!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Like every other type of modern day music, mainstream is usually negative and there's this remedial level of lyric writing involved (whether it's positive or negative!. Underground is where the creative and highly intelligent minds gather!. The music and lyrics are more advanced- embracing good music as the art form it truly is!. A good artists have to "dumb-down" their talents to be mainstream!. Marilyn Manson said a couple of years ago, " the only creative music out there is hip hop!." Considering most hip hop you hear isn't creative, it tells you how lousy modern music is today!. Listen to most radio stations outside of public or college radio stations and you'll see what I mean!. Granted, mainstream is where the big moneys at but it's still processed music for processed people that embrace it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Mainstream hip hop promotes sex, drugs, violence, women abuse, and greed!.
Underground hip hop sometimes includes violence and talk of being on streets, but chances are good that the rappers actually have lived on the streets, where the mainstreams were most likely born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and just talk about the hood to sell albums!. also, alot of underground hip hop speaks out AGAINST violence, drugs, women abuse, etc!.

Well yeah in my country most of the underground heads either look like hippies or like my style which is Striped Polo Shirts and Nikes!.
The other mainstream kids sport their Dada and WuWear and that sort of stuff and are usually not as intelligent if I can say that without seeming rude!.
The underground kids revolve around old graffiti crews while the mainstreamers are more likely to be petty crims or derros!.
The mainstreamers think they are cool when they get a gold chain and earrings!.
The underground heads prefer to listen to Jazz/Blues and converse about new release kicks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
