Honestly why do some older people think that!? I never really big into the mainstream bands and yet people assume that I like crappy music!. I was actually about to post a question about that!. I'm 17 and I think it's wrong for that guy to assume I listen to MCR and FOB!. I mean you and me share the same musical taste and were both 17!. It shows that it's all BS what anyone says!. To automatically assume that is stupid!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i'm 16 going on 17 in two weeks, and i have to say that so many older people do assume that younger kids have no appreciation for older music!.!.!.they believe that all we listen to is radio disney, top 40, and rap, and that we have no background in any other musical tastes!.!.!.it's annoying but i'm used to it because my taste is so different from most other kidsWww@Enter-QA@Com

All I can say is that I respect people that have different taste in music and respect all types of music! I'm 24 and love music from the Vietnam era! I wasn't even a glimmer in my parents eyes in those days! LOL But I also love classical, country, rap, r&b, punk, rock, techno, goth, heavy metal!.!.!. etc! I think it's kind of disrespectful for someone to automatically assume that since we are young, we have "bad" taste in music!. Granted, I can only speak my opinion, but I think that the "older" generation should be happy that us teenagers are discovering the music that they enjoyed, and that not all of us buy into the top 40 music of today!. When I get older, I hope that I will not become that blatantly ignorant!.

It's relative!.!.!.!.!.!.the experience I'm about to relate to you has more to do with racism than just taste in music, but I think it points to the fact that people with closed minds will put down anyone's taste in music or bands!.
When I was a kid, one time I went and bought a 45 single of "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix (yah, I'm old enough to be able to say that)!. I was telling someone later that I bought it (and was glad to have it in my music collection) and they replied, "Jimi Hendrix!? Why'd you buy that for!? He's black!."
