I believe this is considered Impressionistic, which is contemporary!. The music for "today" is post-modern!. There are many periods of music!. Usually, the term 'classical' is used to define them all, but there is Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic and post-modern; including medieval and times before that I can't remember!. They all have decidedly different styles and sounds!. Anyway, I hope this helps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It is a matter of opinion as to whether Palladio by Karl Jenkins is classical music or not!. There is an on-going debate on this forum on the subject of the definition!. I suppose it is classical music (no other category really fits)!. It is o!.k!. but gets a little tedious after a while, there is much better stuff to listen to!.
I'm afraid I must decline to not put it in a box!. I think I'll put it in the one marked "inconsequential modern classical music!." That seems to be pretty much all contemporary classical music goes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

That is Karl Jenkins Palladio!. Yes, a nice piece!. I'm not overly impressed with Scala!. They're average!. They just happen to have cool instruments and to be attractive and in the right place at the right time!. I would place it, personally, in the 'film music' genre which does, at times, copy classical style!. However, there are many pieces that are similar to this and better from the classical genre!. Mind you, people will classify it differently at times because of their personal preference!.

not really, this is a kind of fusion music that incorporates classical idioms!. Karl Jenkins is a very commercial composers who's writing pop music that borrows from classical!.

p!.s!.:
To all the people bashing Karl Jenkins I must say that the first time I heard palladio on the radio performed by a string quartet I mistook it for Vivaldi!. I think many of you would have done the same!. (that being said being composed today instead of in the baroque does make a big difference)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Its on the cusp!. Its classical music that has been tarted up to be pop!. As you listen to more music and get more sophisticated you may find this kind of thing is rather one dimensional and more traditional classical music gives you more to feel and more to think about!. Sure Britain's Got Talent just not here try Southbank Centre!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

That piece was writen for the DeBeers Diamond ad campaign!. It is actually quite good for the genre it is in -- trying to imitate the Baroque style ala Vivaldi's 4 seasons!.!.

What a shame you have decided that you prefer commercial music to classical!. You will miss a huge chunk of fine listening!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well it has a classical sound but i dont really now,,, maybe,,, somehow,,, i like it anyway

Similar pieces,,, i know i lot of piano,,, a lot of Maksim's pieces have a similar tone like that!. You may search on You Tube and some Videos give you a link to his website!.

well if you really meant violin

Try,,, Winter by Antonio Vivaldi

hope i helped and GOOD LUCK!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm not sure if I'm having an allergic reaction to the concept, but they strike me as a fairly horrendous set of players doing nothing interesting or very original!. The piece is Palladio, by Karl Jenkins, who also produces a wide range of tedious balls!.
Addmitedly this is all opinion, but I'd recommend you to go and buy a good recording of Beethoven's late string quartets (Say the Melos Quartet's 1980s recordings - reissued by Arkiv recently)!. Then I think you might understand my!.!.!. somewhat violent reaction!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There is no reason to put music into boxes and think this narrowly! This is real music, no matter what genre it is, and people enjoy it (at least some like myself)!Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, this is not classical music, it is contemporary!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know really,,, but they're very good!!Www@Enter-QA@Com
