While it does have a massive following (and trance is still the most popular music worldwide with house in close second), there is a sufficient market to sustain the current record labels releasing this genre!. The US is an anomaly in terms of popular music!. Clubs in the US usually play hip-hop, while the most popular music is rock music!. As the others have stated, the US has a very volatile music industry that changes its most preferred genre every few years!. Other nations, however, have stuck to trance (especially Asia) while some nations in Europe are now switching to other EDM genres like happy hardcore, house (especially), and DnB!. The limited commercialization of happy hardcore, however, allows it to maintain its comparatively small, but loyal fanbase, thus supporting the relatively few labels releasing it (This also inhibits the growth of this fanbase and limits the number of artists that can be signed to them further preventing commercialization)!. Larger record companies that normally widely commercialize their music will reap little profit from selling to this small market as it would be a small contribution to their already large market coverage!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

because the djs who create the best music on limewire etc, are not signed!. they cant get to number 1, they arent in the charts, whether the music is what we want or not!.

and advertising costs!.

your brother needs to get signed, then save a lot of money to advertise, ask cd stores to let them sell him cds, and they get x amount to start!.
get a website!. and promote himself!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

As you say it depends what's up and coming!. A couple of years ago it was all dance music, you couldn't move for it!. Now it's indie/rock etc, in a year or so it will change again!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I do not know
I listen to underground stuff now because you dont see any good dance artists or music anymore
I think people still see it as a lower form of music when in reality its the best IMOWww@Enter-QA@Com

we dont want it to be commercialised, that is when the scene will die!. underground music is underground for a reason!Www@Enter-QA@Com
