They were cool weren't they!? They were also the very first all white band to be signed to 'Mowton Records'!. Though the first white performer was Neil Young, then with the Toronto band 'The Mynah Birds' featuring future funkster Rick James!.
'Mowtown' actually created a subsiduary label named after the band called 'Rare Earth Records', which later became the home of many other white acts as well!.
My favorite album is still their very first before being picked up by Mowtown, called Dream/Answers released in 1968 on the Verve label!. The Rare Earth label later released this album again in 1971 to cash in on their popularity, only this time it was re-titled 'Two Worlds'!.
I also really enjoy 'Get Ready'!.!.!.the 21 minute track of the same name was stellar!. 'Ecology' and 'One World' were great albums also, and the near 11 minute track called (I Know) I'm Losing You is a classic!
Their 'In Concert' album had its moments as well, lot's of cool funky jams happening there!

Some of my favorite songs that I haven't already mentioned are;
Born to Wander
Train to Nowhere
Nice Place to Visit
Red Apple
No!. 1 Man
Yesterday on Third Avenue
Under God's Light
Stop/Where Did Our Love Go
Feelin' Alright
What'd I Say
King of a Rainy Country
I Just Want To Celebrate
Magic Key
Searchin'
Land of Nod
Satisfaction Guaranteed
Mother's Oats
Eleanor Rigby
Tobacco Road

As an avid record collector, I'm proud to say that I own everything ever released on that relatively short lived label!.
Several well known UK bands also saw release on the Rare Earth label in the US, like!.!.!.The Pretty Things, UFO, Love Sculpture, and Toe Fat, who were a precusor to Uriah Heep featuring Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake!.
Some of the US acts featured on the label were, The Lost Nation, The Rustix, R!. Dean Taylor, Power of Zeus, The Messengers, and Brass Monkey, to name just a few!. All are sought after collectors items if they are in reasonable condition!. The UK bands released on the Rare Earth label aren't really worth all that much though, as collectors tend to go after their original UK counterpart issues on labels such as EMI/Parlaphone, Decca/Beacon, etc!.

Yes!.!.!.I remember Rare Earth!.!.!.the band, and the label named after them!.

That is as far as my knowledge goes on this one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
