How do I overcome song writers block?!
Question: How do I overcome song writers block!?
So, I'm in a band, I seem to be the only one who is writing lyrics that can be used in songs!. The drummer doesn't write, the bass player never shares his music, don't know if he ever plans on it!? The other kid who plays guitar writes stuff that is too hip hoppy, or just not good (not just my opinion, it was backed by the opinion of a kid who I wanted to drum for us, he didn't like the other kids lyrics, he liked mine)!. So, I find that I write a lot about death and depression and suicide and killing and I don't feel that way anymore!. But now I don't know what I feel and everything I try to write comes out to be pure rubbish after at most 3 lines!. I don't really know what to write about, or how to even start writing!. Plus, I don't really want our first songs to be about death and depression and blood and killing and whatnot!. I've tried getting random words and phrases to start lines but it just doesn't seem to be working!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Songs usually tell some sort of story!. When I get blocked I usually start listening to music and then something I'm listening to will spawn an idea!.
Try free writing (Writing whatever pops in your head first, no matter what no censoring) helps unblock you!.
Try writing short stories!.

take a break !.go and watch your favorite movie, hang out with some friends, or maybe even get you're hair done!. that always puts me in a good mood!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I own a book I truly believe in called "A Whack On The Side Of The Head" by Roger Von Oech!. This Dutch gentleman taught me that if you need creativity and you're stagnating, you have to test your limits!. Watch a yoga session if you've never gone, or watch a scary movie if you get scared!. Walk through a part of town or another town you'd never thought to be in before!. If all else fails, and you refuse to put ice cream on your head, etc!., you should keep a journal of ALL your creative thoughts to refer to later!.
