I think that comparing instruments is stupid?!

Question: I think that comparing instruments is stupid!?
Many musicians say that their instruments are more difficult!. I play the piano (especifically jazzy piano) and I know a violin player who always says that piano is "an extremely easy instrument" and that violin is "the hardest instrument in the wolrd"!. I also know a guitar player that says that guitar is far harder than piano!. I consider that comparing instruments is wrong, because of this reasons:
- In an ensemble, each instrument has a different role
- By comparing instruments you can make a musician go bananas or get depressed (I am a sad pianists because the other musicians usually say that any stupid can play the piano)

I don't like to compare musical instruments!. What is your opinion!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
every instrument, save for a few, require an extreme amount of skill!. I played trombone in high school, which was fairly difficult, and i have played guitar for about 5 years and it is still rather challenging!. to answer your question, to compare the difficulty of playing an instrument is rather negative, and that energy should be used to play, rather than judge ones degree of talent!.
Anyway, Buck up, and don't let the losers get you down!. It may possibly be that they looking for a way to vent their frustration at how difficult it is for them to play their instrument of choice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's not always comparing instruments, it's about how much people do really know about e!.g!. the capacity of the instruments! For example, the recorder has always stayed as "school instrument" for most of the people, so what those people are really missing is that the recorder is really a challenging instrument and if played by a virtuoso player, it really sounds like heaven on earth! All the nuances, the dynamics, etc are the things that count!. If people don't know much enough about musical instruments, they start underrating them, and that is very sad in my opinion!.!.!.

Anyway, back to the original question: Each and every one of musical instruments require much from their players, especially if taken to the virtuoso level, i!.e!. years and years of practice!. Therefore, all instruments are equally challenging to master!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I play guitar, piano, bass, mandolin, drums!. they are all unique and all have there complexities!.
Piano is PHYSICALLY the easiest to play in that the human hand lends itself to striking a key on a keyboard much easier then fretting an instrument or sriking a percussion instrument!. Drums are PHYSICALLY the hardest to play because they require complex multi tasking and tremendous amounts of stamina!. However, MENTALLY the piano is the most complex and the drums are the least complex!. The guitar Is similar in complexity to the piano mentally while requiring tremendous amounts of physical dexterity in the fingers!.
I tell my students that the piano is the easiest to play but the hardest to master!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree that comparing is stupid!. Part of that is just that to some people have an easier time playing instruments (and certain instruments)!. Personally, I play all the woodwinds, piano, and some of the brass quite comfortably!. I can't play string instruments to save my life (well, not well at least)!. There are people that can do the complete opposite!. Unfortunately for some people playing certain instruments is very difficult!.
If you really want to stick it to people who say it is easy, have them sit down right then and prove how easy it is to do what you are doing!. This will shut most people up because people don't consider what it is really like to do it at a certain level!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't think its so bad!. For instance, clarinet and saxophone are very similar and its easy for a clarinet player to pick up a sax and play, but its much harder for the sax player to play the clarinet!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
