What, if any, is the difference between a Philharmonic Orchestra and a Symphony !

Question: What, if any, is the difference between a Philharmonic Orchestra and a Symphony Orchestra !?
Answers:
A full size orchestra (about 100 players) may sometimes be called a "symphony orchestra" or "philharmonic orchestra"; these prefixes do not necessarily indicate any strict difference in either the instrumental constitution or role of the orchestra, but can be useful to distinguish different ensembles based in the same city (for instance, the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic OrchestraWww@Enter-QA@Com

The dictionary denotation is properly a lot different than the actual connotations of the names used today!. It's mostly used to differentiate between different symphonies and orchestras!. Take London or Berlin!. They have several successful orchestras and use different names to differentiate between them!.

Generally speaking, there is no difference physically between the two, but usually, a symphony orchestra is an establised, permanant orchestra, where as a philharmonic tends to be put together for certain events,
This is not always the case, but generally holds trueWww@Enter-QA@Com
