Answers:
By old school Im just gonna assume you mean like 92 and before!.!.!.!.while I prefer the mid 90's I can still help you here!.!.!.also gave some recommendation on albums!.!.!.

Eric B & Rakim - Follow The Leader / Paid In Full / The R (strongly recommend to check out Rakims whole catalogue, seriously anything Rakim has ever done, he is the God MC, anything he touches turns into gold)

Whodini - Friends / Five Minutes Of Funk (Im sure you'll recognize a lot songs by Whodini just cause they've been sampled so many times)

Big Daddy Kane - The Day Your Mine / Smooth Operator / Young, Gifted, and Black (First two albums are classics)

Public Enemy - Bring The Noise / Don't Believe The Hype / Fight The Power (Best work are "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" & "Fear Of A Black Planet")

EPMD - You Gots To Chill / Jane / You're a Customer (Strongly recommend check out their album "Strictly Business" and their follow up)

KRS-One (Boogie Down Productions) - The Bridge Is Over / Why Is That (If you want some good old school stuff then listen to his 80's work but dont sleep on his early to mid 90's stuff)

Run DMC - King Of Rock / Rock Box (Very influential group impact and style wise!.!.!.check out their first four albums)

Slick Rick - Childrens Story (Very unique rapper with his sense of humor!.!.!."The Great Adventures of Slick Rick" is his best work)

Ice-T - Im Your Pusher / You Played Yourself (check out his stuff from like 86-91 like the albums Power, OG, and The Iceberg!.!.!.one of the most controversial rapper ever)

Too Short - The Ghetto / Freaky Tales / Playboy Short II / Hard On The Boulevard (I know you're a female and Pimp Rap might not appeal to you but I'll suggest the classic "Born To Mack" anyway)

MC Shan - The Bridge / Kill That Noise ("Down By Law" is a good album from the Bridge War era)

D!.O!.C!. - Its Funky Enough / Let the Bass Go / Formula (Protege of the legendary group of NWA and actually wrote a lot of lyrics for Eazy-E and Dr!. Dre!.!.!.check out "No One Can Do It Better"!.!.!.speaking of NWA!.!.!.)

NWA - Straight Outta Compton / Express Yourself / **** Tha Police ("Straight Outta Compton" is a must a checkout!.!.!.plenty of attitude & controversy)

Pete Rock & C!.L!. Smooth - They Reminisce Over You (T!.R!.O!.Y!.) / Lots Of Lovin / For Pete's Sake (Producer Pete Rock is one of the best ever just listen to the album "Mecca and the Soul Brother" and you'll co-sign)

2Pac - Trapped / Brendas Got A Baby / Part Time Mutha (Yes those 3 tracks can be considered old school since they're from his first album which was released in 91!.!.Im sure you know who Pac is so I wont bother giving details to this great street poet)

Das EFX - Mic Checka / They Want EFX / If Only (Unorthodox delivery or wacky others would say but still great to listen to, check out their first two albums)

Dr!. Dre - Nuthin' But A "G" Thang / **** Wit Dre Day / Let Me Ride (Check the "Chronic"!.!.!.smooth funk west coast rap)

Gang Starr - Soliloquy of Chaos / Step in the Arena (One of my favorite duos featuring my favorite producer ever Premo IMO the greatest!.!.!.listen to "Step in the Arena" to their last album!.!.!.

Redman - Tonights Da Night / Time 4 Sum Aksion (Recommend "Whut!? Thee Album")

Geto Boys - Mind Playing Tricks On Me / We Can't Be Stopped (Well actually if your easily offended by gangsta rap or explicit sexual rap might want to skip these guys (just listen to Gangster of Love and you'll see what I mean)!.!.!.They are similar to NWA with the attitude but a little more edgy at times, from Houston, and featuring a little person, wait nevermind NWA had a little guy too - Eazy E -)

Ice Cube - It's a Man's World / It Was A Good Day / The ***** Ya Love to Hate / Once Upon a Time in the Projects (Very controversial but its highly recommended to give it a listen to one of the greatest rappers ever!.!.!.Recommend in order "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted", "Death Certificate", and "Predator")

Spice 1 - Welcome To The Ghetto / East Bay Gangster ("Spice 1" album help put the Bay Area on the map in the Hip-Hop World)

A Tribe Called Quest - Excursions / Can I kick it!? / Scenario (Great group with a different sound for their time!.!.!.nearly all their stuff is great)

Digital Underground - Humpty Dance / Sex Packets / Freaks Of The Industry ("Sex Packets" is a great album!.!.!.funny & smooth)

K-Solo - Fugitive / Spellbound (K-Solo always reminded of Rakim with a mix of Erick Sermon which is a great combination too bad he didnt stay consitant but "Tell The World My Name" is worth listening to)

LL Cool J - Rock the Bells / I Need Love / Mama Said Knock You Out / I'm Bad (Honestly Im not a big fan of LL Cool J but I know the ladies do love him *according to his name* but I'll give him credit he was good just too much puppy love rap for me on some of his work)

Lord Finesse - Funky Technician / Bad Mutha (A master of the old school battle rap!.!.!.if you like witty punchlines then you'll like Lord Finesse!.!.!."Funky Technician" is recommended)

De La Soul - Me Myself and I / Let, Let Me In / Buddy (Laid back jazz sound similar to A Tribe Called Quest!.!.!.check out two great albums "3 Feet High And Rising" & "De La Soul Is Dead")

Naughty By Nature - OPP / Uptown Anthem / Hip Hop Hurray

Thats should be enough!.!.!.but theres definitely more Rappers to check out like Nice & Smooth, Special Ed, Kool Moe Dee, Kurtis Blow, Compton's Most Wanted, Black Sheep, Grand Master Flash, Cool C, Cypress Hill, Showbiz & A!.G!., Doug E!.
