Question: What are the differences in these artists!? Why are these artists significant, and how did they get popular!?
AC/DC with Bon Scott
Van Halen with DLR
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
Ozzy Osbourne in the 1980s
Aerosmith- Their first 4 albums

I contend that all these artists in the eras I mention were huge because they appealed mostly to high schoolers of the time!. And to Millions of high schoolers!. They were the band of the time!.
These kids grew up not really ever finding other bands they liked in the same way- and so, these groups became legendary and are contended to be the greatest bands of their era!.
Mainly, I'm not trying to say those bands I mention are the greatest bands of all time, but that this is how legendary bands get their start!.
This is also how Classic rock gets going and actually is the definition of classic rock!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it has to do with their unique sounds, a ton of talent, some luck, and them appealing to high school fan base probably helped!.

I mean you can tell the sound of Bon Scotts voice or Robert Plant, or Ozzy anywhere!. And Jimmy Page in my opinion was an absolute genius on the guitar!. Eddie Van Halen was great with a guitar too, and so was Angus Young!.

Tons of great talent!.

oops, almost forgot Aerosmith!. Great voice, guitar, and song writing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Timing, Marketing and Luck, mostly!. New, unique sounds, at the time, and legendary live performances!. The lack of video and "instant gratification" didn't apply to these groups and many fans had to rely on word of mouth and imagination creating a kind of aura of greatness!.

I don't think that Ozzy belongs on the lis as he was at his best (not most famous) with Sabbath!. Ozzy benefitted from video in the 80's and from Randy Rhodes guitar playing!.

But, Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest bands of all time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

all of the bands you listed became great because the times they came out they had a sound and stage presence to match and they made great music!.!.!.!.van halen with dlr!.!.well david made them the whole package, great front man, Zeppelin was great and Black Sabbath (my favorite band of all time) started metal and it was the sound that no one had ever heard before, and Ozzy i love him and he does deserve to be on this list he was and still is a great singer he has his own sound that no one could ever match, so you gota give him credit for all he has done!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'll just answer about Aerosmith, since the others will receive so much!.

Aerosmith came along at a time when Prog Rock was at its zenith, and introduced a new, funky hard sound!. Using a New Orleans funk beat, their riffs were inescapable on "Walk This Way" and "Last Child"!. Their blues influences were very evident, even covering Bull Moose Jackson's "Big Ten Inch (Record)"!. Mix in their clever, double entendre-filled lyrics and you can hear why they impacted when Yes and ELP were so big!.

Aerosmith took hard rock back to its roots, not going metal but just making it fun again!. And the entire time, they were being blasted by Rolling Stone magazine's snobs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

because of differenceWww@Enter-QA@Com

there names are all different!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I hate solo Ozzy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think its cos they appealed to kids who were disinchanted and felt like "outsiders",who therefore took rock to be their"salvation"while theyre peers were dressing all cute and listening to crap music, these kids were hangin out, having long hair, leather jackets etc and having fun!most of these kids are now my age(early 40s)and the music defined an era for us,another point being, all the bands you mentioned did some kick *** songs and had good frontmen!Www@Enter-QA@Com
