I don't think this could ever be answered, especially with the mass eruptions of sub genres and new styles and mixing of those!. It was one thing to pick even when it was the 60's, but now you have all the way from classical/neoclassical/baroque all the way to death metal, around to rock and over to virtuosos and avant guard bands!. If you were to pick one on personal preference, it would have to many personal reason for being picked, and if you were to pick a solely on technical prowess, it would be sport, not art!.
