Well, for REM "Losing My Religion" is one of their best songs, sorry you don't like it :[ some other great songs by them are:

Hmmm!.!.!.these are two of my all-time favorite bands, and you listed some pretty good songs there!. You might like "It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" by R!.E!.M!. As for the Smiths, try "Sheila Take a Bow" or "Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before!."
