Gmanstan - I'm voting for you because of the sincere sentiment in your response!. The second rhapsody is one of the gems of the series, and your mother must have been very talented to perform it Alas my own mother passed when I was only five, over forty years ago!.
As for the question!. !. !. I tend to take a desert island mentality towards it lol!. I can only name three, not one:
Beethoven: Symphony #7 recorded by Herbert von Karajan and the Berliner in 1963!.

I really dig Beethoven so basically anything that's fairly well-known by him is fine with me!. I especially like the Moonlight Sonata!.
