Price and Williams were both members!. Williams was fired for his escapades; Price quit over because of the rules stipulating that Opry members had to have an Opry-affiliated promotor book their shows (a dozen other artists quit over this)!.
There is an outstanding book on the history of WSM, the radio station where the Grand Ole Opry was born and still lives, written by Craig Havighurst, titled, "The Air Castle of the South!." I highly recommend it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hank Williams was a member of the Grand Ol Opry , sang on it many times !. There are many books on him and his life !.Www@Enter-QA@Com
