Question: Im 17 years old and i want to become a singer I want to know if record labels hold auditions that i can go 2!?
if so i would like to know who and where, or maybe a website that shows auditions that i could check out

but why not just try out for American idol
i know you would probably like to be famous on your own
but look at how good Kelly clarkson is
and Carrie Underwood
and Jordan sparks
all female singers, all albums selling off the charts, all American idols!
so try out next season
and at the lat resort try out for America's got talent, i mean i personally don't like it, but its better than nothing

pps: you can also post a song of yu singing on youtube and tell your friends to tell their friends to tell their friends!.!.!.ect ect!. Some people start there!. millions of poeple go on youtube and there has to be one that is in the buisness and loves your singing!. you can als make a mspace devoted just to songs (artists poem) and send it to friends t send it to their friends ect ect LOL

Depending on which type of 'singer' you would like to be!.!. There are different steps you could try and take!.
Record labels usually only sign people who have an already existing following i!.e 'fans'!. Either this or a good track record of professional work!.
You could try handing in your demo to an agency instead!.!. these people will take you seriously if they think that you have a voice which will make money!. This might be for work in adverts, small productions, cruise ships and maybe for record labels who are looking for new talent!.
The best thing to do is start at the bottom and work your way up!. Use every opportunity as a learning/work experience and maybe a step closer to your real dream!.
Demos don’t have to be recorded with a live band!.!. they can be good quality backings/A cappella/original compositions etc!.!. they just want to hear the best you can do!.

You can't just "get" an audition!. It doesn't work that way, sadly, or a lot of new artists would be heard!.
You can make a demo CD and send it to major (or minor, whichever) record labels!. To do this you need to hire a backing band (or just get one together and be a band instead of a solo artist), and rent time in a studio to record!. But this costs money!. And there's no guarantee that anyone at the record company will listen to it, because they get hundreds of demos a day!.
also, you can try MySpace!. Set up a MySpace with some of your demos!. Try YouTube!. Something to get your music out there - and once you start to build up a fanbase, make your music available for purchase and download online!. Play live shows in clubs!.
