I'll go with the Beatles!. Now let's not get our undies in a wad over that, because I'd also say they're probably in my top 20 favorite bands and desrve tons of respect and are a wonderful fantastic and memorable pop/rock band!. However, based on what they actually did and the size of their reputation, well they simply have to be the most overrated ever!. ANY band with a reputation that extravagant has to be overrated!. And its not even the real fans that usually overrate them, it's people who think they know something and make bold and unsubstantiated claims they can't back as well as rock critics that tell one sided stories because they know if they write a review praising the Beatles no one will disagree!.
In short, the Beatles are a fantastic band, and yet still grossly overrated!. In the end they were a good pop/rock band that wrote memorable songs like a million other bands of the time and treaded some new ground in the midst of the most musically progressive decade ever!. Look at how rock sounded in the late 50's, then the late 60's, and then look at how little of that difference the Beatles contributed!. No one band should get that much credit for a decade and a million bands worth of work!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They are NOT overrated! They are the best band in the world!. Yeah, they're songs got a little "stranger" once they started doing drugs, But that doesn't mean they're overrated!. I have been a fan for a year or so and I listen to their music everyday!. Whenever I listen to them, They make my day a whole lot better!. To me, their songs and lyrics mean something!. They mean, that I will meet someone one day and my dreams will come true!. Like in the song "All my Loving" It says " I'll pretend that I'm kissing the lips I am missing and hope that my dreams will come true" and the rest of the song!. Like I said, each song means something special and they will always be my favorite band!. I even have a different song stuck in my head, maybe 2 or 3 or maybe even 4 everyday, and I will never forget being a fan and how they made my day a whole lot better!.

I think you can only consider a band overrated if you actually lived in the time they were big!. So anyone saying Nirvana is kind of stupid unless they were like 15 in the 90's!. I kind of agree with you!. I bought their greatest hits and it was mostly cover songs!. Plus how long is it going to take Axel to get the Chinese Democracy released!? It's been 15 years!. On the other hand Appetite for Destruction is one of the greatest metal albums of all time and will always be a classic!. It sucks that they self destructed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
