Metal music... good or bad? Best and worst...?!
Question: Metal music!.!.!. good or bad!? Best and worst!.!.!.!?
Many people when they hear the word metal thing 'ROAAARRRRR' and to a degree they are partially correct!.!.!. but not really!.!.!. there are hundreds (or what seems like hundreds) of sub-genres in metal!.!.
I'de say about 50% isnt screaming!.!.!. ALL of it is more melodic than rap!.!.!. many of the artists are very talanted!.!.!.

I absolutely LOVE metal!. I adore the passion in it, the feeling, the energy, the fact that it's so cathartic!. It's one of the only genres of music nowadays which is truely "rebellious" and it's one of the few genres of music in which you can protest: religion, politics, injustice - you name it!.
There's also such a variety of metal!. There's melodic, sludgey, frantic, fats, slow, technical, basic, scary, angry, and some of it can be downright beautful!.
It does have melody: oftent he guitar parts, particularly the solos, can be very melodic, and if you listen to genres such as gothic and symphonic metal, there is often singing as well as or in place of screaming!.
My personal favourite genre of metal is black metal!. I love the screeched vocals, the haunting atmosphere, and the fact that some of the bands (okay, not the ones who sing about satan but some of the more crossover bands) sing about issues such as religion, philosophy, life and death, chaos, the environment and folklore!.
My current favourite band is one called Gris who blends black metal with accoustic, folk, ambient and electronica touches, combining the visceral harshness of black metal with some true beauty and elegance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Metal is brilliant!. Beneath all that screaming and stuff is RAW emotion!. The lyrics might be distorted but it really means something to me!.
And it also makes great head-banging listening too!
I LOVE Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden,Bullet For My Valentine and all that!.

A lot of modern metal bores me more than anything else, but I'm a bit ignorant about it so basically, looking back a little:
Good stuff - dark, intense,scary, weird - Sabbath, Hawkwind, Atomic Rooster, Jane's Addiction
Bad Stuff - Pompous, grandiose, stadium bollocks - Queen , Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi
