Heavy Metal problem! Pickups etc help! :(?!

Question: Heavy Metal problem! Pickups etc help! :(!?
I just recently purchased a Gibson Explorer Pro!. I thought it would be the answer to my heavy metal needs, but it's not!. The pickups, especially the back one, pick up so much interference that I feel like I'm playing every string every second even when I have my hands over the guitar strings!.

I tried to play some Nightwishish heavy metal stuff, and it sounded WORSE on this guitar than with my TELECASTER Fender!.!.!. YES!.!.!. I need help!. It sounds like garbage!.!.!.

I'm thinking of replacing the back pickup with a closed humbucker system, but regardless, I don't know what to do!. When I palm mute and strum a power chord, it barely makes any noise as if I didn't do it at all!. Any heavy metal afficianado knows how important this is!.!.!.!. Any suggestions!? Send the P!.O!.S!. back to teh factory!? lolWww@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
the guitar is fine its probably your amp or even your cable try going to a music store and try some of the amps, take your guitar just to make sure that there isn't a problem with it!. If you decide on changing pickups try the seymour duncan line!. They make some excellent pickups for all styles!
Regardless of the sound, How does the guitar play!? If it plays great than just try some new pickups!. Remember that a gibson has a much hotter out put than a tele so try backing off the input gain on your amp or the distortion control on your effects pedal and adjust the E!.Q!. Dont blame the guitar for not sounding like your tele! All guitars sound different and they should! What a sucky world it would be if all guitars sounded alike!
I bet that if you tried turning the distortion down on your system you would find that the humbuckers on the new axe sound just fine! Humbuckers have more power and will sound noisy if there is too much gain on the input of an amp!.
try running the effects through the effects loop on the amp (if so equipped) and re do your systemWww@Enter-QA@Com

Yes you can go with those pricey active p/u's, but instead go to e-bay and try some Mighty Mite Motherbuckers!.

When you get them attach the red an blue wires together and the white wire to ground!. That leaves the black wire as the hot wire!.

If you like a warm (or hot) Alnico sound try the Motherbuckers they are a good p/u and they won't break the bank!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

if you can barely hear anything when you play a power chord, its probably a flaw in the pick ups!. try taking it back and changing it for another explorer!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

if i were you and i wasnt totally satisfied id think about sending it back,it could be a design fault!!!stick with your fender!!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

great axe really , is it loaded with 480/490, if so getem out and slap in some active emg's or replace the bridge p/u with a prs dragon ll !.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Take it back and get something really expensive!. Money = quality!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

get emg pickups, they kick ***, or get an esp!. most really heavy metal bands use that like atryu and metallicaWww@Enter-QA@Com
