Question: I know one of them and she's not a big deal!.!.!.!.but why in the name of God did I get TD on this!?
Whenever Mamianka answers the same question I do too, she gives me TD for no reason at all!. And I think it's because she's an arrogant, self-centered, ignorant woman who's main obsessions are certificates who doesn't have ANY feelings for music!. Maybe no feelings at all!.
And I don't give a damn about her!. She answers questions where she can criticize the nature of the question itself!.
But I got a TD on this:
"I am sixteen and I have about 40 GBs of classical music on my iPod!.
BEAT YA!"
Is it just my age and typical discrimination against teenagers or am I missing something here!?
Is it wrong to be enthusiastic about music!?
I got 'three' TDs because of saying orchestration is practical and has to be done in class and that opinionated orchestration books (i!.e!. Rimsky-Korsakov's) aren't the best place to start!. And I had discussed this with THREE profs from notable universities!. All three of them are accomplished musicians!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm guessing you're 16 or something around that, but when I think of kids around my age (i'm 16) I think of someone mature and somewhat smart, not someone who gets mad at something as small and worthless as thumbdowns on this website!.
also, it's great to be enthusiastic about classical music, but things like "OOH LOOK AT ME I HAVE 40 GIGS OF CLASSICAL MUSIC!!!" are just plain stupid!. All that matters is if you love listening/playing this kind of music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am new to Yahoo! Answers and I don't know what a TD is, but it sounds like a warning or something for a bad or inappropriate answer!. If you ever want a career in music you have to learn how to take criticism and develop thick skin!.
If you let things get this personal and are so angry about it you will not go far in music nor will you ever enjoy what music is about!.
No matter where you go there will always be those who have a difference of opinion!. The fact is some people will agree with you and some will not!. Some will have expertise in areas where you do not and you will have expertise in areas they lack!. Thats what music is about! Music is not defined by who is right and who is wrong!.
Just because you talk to 3 professors doesn't mean anything!. It is there opinion you are stating!. Three other professors can have an different opinion and three additional professors will have another view!.
So what if you got a thumbs down! Is this the end of the world!? No! In the grand scheme of things does it matter!? 10 years from now is a thumbs down going to be an issue!? Will that thumbs down keep you from getting into college!? Will the thumbs down prevent you from getting your first job!?
If you are so infuriated by something like this, then music is not the field for you because if you are so easily rattled by something so petty then how will you deal with an agent who says you don't play well or a guest teacher that is critical on your phrasing!?
I have played so many recitals - many of them reviewed by critics!. I have received some very encouraging and favorable reviews and I have also received reviews that I didn't agree with!. But if I lose my cool about a review then it will affect my next performance!. Does it matter in the end!? No, because I still get invites to perform!.
Honestly, a thumbs down!? You're losing sleep over that!? Why waste all your energy on such a petty thing when you can use it to practice!. And it doesn't matter how much music you have on your iPod!.!.!. Because there is someone out there who has more!. There will always be someone who has more music then you, who plays better than you, plays faster!.!.!.!. thats the world of music!.!.!.!.
