Musical Question! SIMPLE!!! PLEASE HELP?!

Question: Musical Question! SIMPLE!!! PLEASE HELP!?
I am taking begining piano at my high school!. I am actually pretty good at it and have good time and play well!. We have to play specific songs that our teacher assigns us in our book!. I came across this song, and im too lazy to go get my book and get the name for you!.

We play almost always in 4/4 time, and this song has a quarter note with a dot after it which i know means 1 and a half beats!. The first measure of the song is this: Quarter note, Quarter note, dotted quarter note, eigth note!. Our teacher told us to play stride bass on the left hand throughout the song!. (in c position we just play c on the first note then e+g for the rest of the measure and repeat!.

So my question is: When do i play the 4th beat of the stride bass because it comes between the dotted quarter and eighth note!. This is really complex to me!. I count in my head and its hard to describe but i dont know when to play the 4th beat of the stirde bass relative to the dotted quarter and eighth!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Try counting each measure in 8 in your head!. So, you get the following: 12 34 567 8
