What instrument should I learn to play?!

Question: What instrument should I learn to play!?
I love the guitar and piano (other suggestions are welcome), but I'm stuck between the 2 of them!. Not saying I won't try both, but which one would you pick!? It doesn't matter about how difficult they are to play; I'm willing to practice!. Used to play the flute if that helps at all!.!.!.and if you pick guitar, should I start out with an acoustic!?

Thanks you guysWww@Enter-QA@Com

I've been a drummer for over 40 years and I love it!.

I also play guitar and bass!.

I learned during my younger years, when I was traveling a lot, that you can't always haul, set up and play drums at times!. A guitar you can play almost anywhere!.

Since I love to play and collect guitars, it has been an awesome second instrument for me!.

It doesn't matter if you play banjo, or the spoons!.!.!.it isn't the instrument that is as important as the music that you make!.

Music comes from your soul!. Instruments are simply tools to bring that music out from within you!.

I've had as much fun playing a $2 Kazoo, as I have playing my $3500 Les Paul!.!.!.of course the 1/5th of Tequila may have had something to do with that!. LOL

I'd advise trying several different instruments and stick with the one that you feel most comfortable with and that you enjoy playing the most!.

There are a lot of free online lessons, so no matter what instrument you choose, surely you'll excel at any of them, as long as you remember these 3 things!.!.!.

1!. Practice
2!. Practice
3!. Practice

Piano is a fairly simple instrument to start with!. Notes are easy to pick up!.

I've tried to learn to play the guitar, but I would have to be way more dedicated to withstand holding down the strings!. And if you do decide to go with the guitar, I suggest you start with an acoustic!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I play guitar!. That's it!. People I know who play piano have an easier time learning a new instrument and most play several instruments!. Therefore, go with the piano first!. If you do go with the guitar, get an acoustic to learn on!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

you must learn electric! bass is good too, but boring!. piano is almost always dull!. keyboard works, as a sub for piano!. pretty much the same thing, just a better sound!. (by the way, i love rock music so of course these are my suggestions!)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would start with piano, because as others here have alluded, it requires a lot less work in developing finger strength and technique before you actually start playing!. You can start practicing piano instantly, where with guitar it takes weeks, even months, to develop enough finger strength and fingertip toughness to produce clean notes!.

In addition, the piano's linear layout makes learning music much easier both to play and to visualize as notes on a scale!. The grasp of music's structure that you will gain from learning piano makes learning any subsequent instrument - whether guitar or woodwind or whatever - much easier!.

If you've got the time and money, you could try both simultaneously, or maybe take piano formally and dabble with guitar on your own!. I had piano lessons when I was a kid, dropped out of it for several years, then basically taught myself guitar in my late-teens after a couple of very basic lessons!. Even after all that time, the concept of the staff and notes, of scales and time signatures, etc!. that I'd learned in piano lessons, were still burned into my brain and were extremely helpful in learning guitar!.

In addition, if you dabble with guitar on your own while you're devoting your major energies to piano, even if you don't learn very much on the guitar you can develop some finger strength and coordination that will give you a good head start later on when you decide to move to guitar lessons!.

The most important thing is to find a teacher who knows how to capture and maintain your interest in piano!. If it's somebody who's going to have you practicing "Mary Had A Little Lamb" for ten weeks in a row, you'll quickly become discouraged and drop out!. If it's someone who can show you how to play simplified versions of contemporary songs that you like, you will have instant self-motivation, you'll learn faster, and you'll stick with it!.

The trouble with piano is that you have to own one to practice on, or have access to someone else's on a daily basis!. Good electric ones with full 88-key range can be had for a few hundred bucks from Korg, Yamaha, etc!. though - about the cost of a good electric guitar!.

'Hope that helps you decide!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
