because it is!. there is nothing inherently "blues" genre about the 12 bar blues!. It is just a name for a very common cord progression pattern that is used in many different types of music!. that being 1, 1, 1, 1, 4, 4, 1, 1, 5, 4, 1, 1!. with the possible variation of 1, 1, 1, 1, 4, 4, 1, 1, 5, 5, 1, 1!. I can't explain why, BUT if you can get your hands on "12 Bar Blues" by NRBQ you WILL have your answer!. They actually count out the 12 bars as part of the song!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
