I don't know about psychologically but music wise they mellowed down big time!. Justice for All and later albums sounded like a totally different band!. I think if Cliff was still alive Metallica would still be making heavy music similar to Slayer or Megadeth!. They went a more mainstream path!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yer it affected em, because after that they made a really good album, but then started to write aload of Crap!. That may not of happened if Cliff hadnt died, but who know's!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
